• For a 2–3 seater sofa arrangement: 3×5 or 4×6 feet, where the front legs of the sofa sit on the rug
• For a full drawing room with sofa set: 5×8 feet is the most popular choice
• For a large formal drawing room or villa: 6×9 or 7×10 feet, with all furniture legs on the rug
• For a bedroom beside the bed: 2×5 or 3×5 feet runner alongside the bed
• For a hallway: 2×6 feet runner

The most common kitchen and entrance mat sizes are 1.3×2 feet (40×60 cm) for small spots and 2×3 feet (60×90 cm) for wider areas. If you have a large kitchen or an open entrance, the 2×3 feet size gives better coverage and looks more proportionate.

Most Farsh.pk rugs and mats are made from premium polyester pile. Polyester is soft underfoot, resistant to fading, easy to clean, and holds colour well over time. Our Turkish rugs use a denser Turkish-knotted pile that gives greater depth and sheen. Material information is included on each product page.

We photograph our rugs in real room settings with natural and warm lighting — the same lighting conditions most Pakistani homes use. Colours are as accurate as we can make them. However, screen calibration varies between phones and monitors, so there may be slight differences in person. If colour accuracy is important to you, our 7-day return policy means you can return the rug free of charge if the colour is not what you expected.

Some shedding is normal with new rugs, particularly those with a higher pile. This settles within a few weeks of regular cleaning — shaking the rug out and brushing it, or vacuuming on the lowest setting if you have one. Flat-woven mats (Pacific, Glorious, Cadillac mat range) do not shed.

Yes. All Farsh.pk rugs and mats come with an anti-slip dotted backing designed specifically for the smooth marble and tile floors common in Pakistani homes. The backing keeps the rug firmly in place and prevents bunching or sliding.

For mats and smaller rugs, take them outside every 1–2 weeks, shake out firmly, and beat gently with a stick or by hand to knock out dust. For larger rugs, sweep with a broom (jharu) in the direction of the pile, then go over with a stiff-bristled brush. A vacuum on low suction works well too. Rotate your rug 180 degrees every 3–6 months so it wears evenly. Keep out of harsh direct sunlight. For spills, blot immediately (don’t rub) with a dry cloth, then a damp cloth if a mark remains.

For routine care: vacuum weekly on a low setting, with the beater bar off if possible. For spot cleaning: dab (do not rub) with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Allow to air dry flat. For a deep clean: take the rug outside, shake it out, scrub gently with a damp brush and mild soap, rinse with a hose, and lay flat to dry in the shade. Do not machine wash unless the product page states it is machine washable. Mats in the Pacific and Wonderland ranges can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment — never use a rotating beater bar as it pulls the pile. For spills, blot immediately with a dry cloth, then dab with a damp cloth. Brush the pile back into direction with your hand after cleaning. Avoid placing heavy furniture directly on the pile for extended periods as it can flatten it permanently.
